Media and the bias

The media will effect the public's view on gun control immensley and the unfortunate part about this fact is the media's decision and choice of story on the topic. There could be a million lives saved with guns and we would not hear about it because of the medias love of tradgedy. Death sells in todays media, at least more than a hero story. So when something bad happens that involves a gun the media jumps all over it and smears people fighting for less gun control. i am not saying that the media is incorrect in reporting the news with guns but because most Americans get their information from main stream media and the media blasts the stories that are horrifying then the public gets a more skeptic view of the issue. We do not hear stories about how someone was being robbed and some good samaritan saved the day with a firearm because it doesn't sell as much as a tradgedy would.
